Fenwick Ties Loyola Academy in 4th Game of the Season

The Fenwick girl’s hockey team faced off against Loyola Academy on Sunday, September 29 in the first of two back-to-back contests against them in the tiering round.

Junior Ella Skotty got the game off to a fast start, scoring in the first 10 second of the game. Freshman Claire Kotowicz had the assist on the first goal. Later in the first, junior Madison Strockis received a nice pass from Skotty and notched the final Friars goal of the game. Loyola scored late in the first and again in the third, and the game ended in 2-2 tie.

Freshman goaltender Mikey Romero had 20 saves in the contest, including an impressive penalty shot stop in the second period!

The girls are 3-0-1 on the season, having beat the Grizzlies, Chicago Central and Naper Valley prior to the game against Loyola.

The Friars return home next week when they play Loyola Academy again on October 6 at 7:10 p.m. at the Edge in Bensenville.
